Finished the Dragonscale Bracelet

I finished! I think this weave is much easier than the full persian weave (that I used on the Rearden Metal bracelet - now that I think of it,  I'm going to try this weave with the Rearden Metal color scheme). I had enough rings left over to make a key chain.

$60 for 2 color combination bracelet, add $10 for each additional color added.
$100 for 2 color combination necklace, add $10 for each additional color added.
Materials: anodized aluminum, from Blue Budda Boutique.
I'm brain dead... it's 5:07 am, and I haven't been to bed yet. I'm exhausted.

Dragonscale Chainmaille is fun!

I LOVE this weave! I thought it would be harder, and it is quite hard to wrap your head around. I started getting the hang of it around row 13. This is just my practice bracelet (kit purchased from Blue Budda Boutique). I can just imagine the possibilities. I thought I'd price the finished bracelet out at $120, then after it took me three hours just to get to row 5, I said $150, but I'll price it at $100. I think that's a good price considering that this project is super labor intensive... hard on the hands. I love it though. I started on Thursday evening.... I'll be finished tonight. I can't wait to wear it.

Revisiting An Old Friend.

It seems like all the pieces of my life are sort of falling back into place. I'm still not exactly living where I want to be (my own place), but I just landed a great new "day" job, and I'm saying this because that income supports Creative Magic (when no sales are coming through, which still at this stage is a bonus). My first love is still creating, and if it is never larger than what it is now, I'm fine, because I love to create. I will always create.

My new project is the dragonscale chainmaille (example below, not my work):
I'm ordering from my trusty chainmaille source, Blue Budda Boutique. The colors I've chosen for my project are shiny aluminum, water mix (blues, greens, purples), and bright green. I know the weave will kick my ass, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.

Stay tuned for the progress updates.

I Should Be Playing My Guitar, But...

I made this today. I saw the bracelet on Pinterest (via Esty). I won't sell it, because it's not my design. I love it. I made it with 16 gauge wire (the frame), 24 gauge wire (wraps) and 6mm crystals. Now I'm going to play my guitar (I'm learning three songs by The Civil Wars - "Go", "To Whom...", and "Poison & Wine".
