2 embroidered handkerchiefs done, 1 more to go!

I added the book titles myself.

I just started the Bon Voyage handkerchief tonight. I love embroidering, and I'm getting good at it, so when I apply the techniques to the GFG quilt, it's going to look extraordinary. I promise to continue with the quilt after I finish this last handkerchief.

Slowly Coming Together

It's slowly coming together. I've stopped doing the center flowers for now, and I'm just concentrating on putting the grass (green) around the flowers, with the white borders. I also see how they will fit together, like puzzle pieces. If I run out of the white, it'll be easy to get more. I don't even care if the white matches. It may look more vintage if it doesn't.

I ordered the 6x6 and 11x11 Q-Snap frames from Sublime Stitching. I think the shapes are a little more convenient than the round hoop frames. I also bought some handkerchiefs from amazon.com. I can't believe how hard it is to find handkerchiefs, in this "green" age. I had allergies something terrible on Monday, and thought it would be nice to have embroidered hankies. Now, I will.

Still Hexing Away

I have to admit, I was getting bored making the 6 petal flowers, so I thought it would be cool to do a complete flower block. 12 green hexes and 8 white hexes. 9"x10.5" is the size they're turning out. I think they're supposed to fit together like a puzzle. By the way, this is all hand stitched - whip stitch. Back to finishing the basic 6 petal flowers. I still have a long way to go before I even get to the green/white level.

32 Flowers And Counting...

The pattern I'm kind of following calls for 111 total flowers, with the green secondary ring and the white path. I'm not going to add the green hexes until all my flowers are made. I still may run out of green and white. I'm not even thinking about it.

I'm still doing the EPP method. After I finish a flower, I remove the templates and use them for the next flower. As shown in the picture above, I get excited so I press what I've finished. The flowers on the bottom were finished last night and today. I will embroider once the green and white hexes have been added.... only because the flower will be big enough to fit an embroidery hoop... maybe my size 5.

Stay tuned.

Embroidery Lesson #2 Finished!

Finished! My fingers hurt. I've poked myself, I've bled, but I finished. I've also discovered sequins! This is the 'bad influence' side... "don't give in to those juvenile delinquents Tink. Keep ignoring them... they're a bad lot, all of 'em." That transfer pen gives me a false sense of artistic talent. I may put more drinks down in the bottom corner, but I'm too tired. I can't wait to embroider the images onto my quilt top.... haven't quite figured out how to do it yet. I'm a long way from doing that anyway. Back to EPPing those hexs.
